Devon, Alex, Tony, and Taylor are being instructed on how to use a sheet metal forming tool.

The students are making the battery / fuse box.

The students are still working on battery box.

The students have completed the first steps in building the battery box, and they will make sure it fits in the floorboard of the trunk before they finish it.

The students have made a rough mold of the center console.

Here they are trying to decide on the shape of the center console.

Devon is starting to reshape the console.

The battery box was made larger than we had planned on, so that it could house the fuse box, brake and clutch remote fill bottles.

Same as above

Devon is cutting steel that will be used to fabricate the frame for the center console..

Console frame has been temporarily installed to check the fit for leg room.

Two of the students are checking the alignment of the console frame.

This picture shows the center console frame.

Here you can see the motor showing the installed serpentine belt system that has been donated by March Performance.

Here you can see the air conditioner compressor and starter from Tuff Stuff Performance.

On December 8, 2007 Ken Callison and his son Scott were kind enough to invite SRF and the students from Jackson Community College to their shop at ididit for a seminar on how to install the steering column in Educator One.

Scott and Ken are explaining the history of ididit, and how they have grown to where they are now. They are explaining how to install a steering system the proper way.

Ken Callison is explaining the dos and don’ts of installing a steering column.

Scott Callison is showing us how to find the right location for the placement of the steering wheel so that it will be comfortable for anyone driving the car.

Dave Stanaway - Vice President of SRF is talking to John from Ididit, who recently assisted Dave in getting the correct parts for the steering column in his car.

One of the students from JCC is re-sizing the hole through the firewall for the steering column.

Ed Rowley instructor at JCC – is among the tallest of the group. At almost 6 foot tall, Ed is very comfortable with the position of the steering wheel.

Nick DiBlase is checking to make sure that the position of steering wheel works comfortably for someone from 5 foot, to 5’ 6" tall.

Break time at the steering column seminar at ididit. Jane Callison - the President of ididit was so kind to provide pizza and pop for the students from JCC, the SRF staff, and also Ken and Scott Callison.

Break-time is over and it is back to work on installing the steering column. Here is Jane and Ken Callison stopping for a quick snapshot.

The steering column has been installed, and Scott Callison is checking the fit.

What a seminar! The day is done, and Educator One now has an ididit steering column that we can be proud of. Ken and Scott shared a wide variety of their 21 years of experience and knowledge. Everyone learned a lot from this day.

This has provided a great learning experience for our youth,
